A Warehouse Hide-a-way B&B
Artist Mary Jean Brown

"We could not locate a guest book and really wanted to say thanks and commend you on your work (art and design). We had a great stay off the boat and given we’re within 30 minutes from Bowen, you will see all three of us again (including Madison) over the winter… Sue and I have very demanding tastes and flair for something different. Your place is a winner."
Angus, Bowen Island, B.C.

"I can't thank you enough for our great stay.  Aaron will be talking about you and Killarney Lane for a long time.
Sincerely, Laura

"Mary Jean – What a little piece of heaven this was for me!  I love everything about your fabulous Warehouse, and had a wonderful time.  Thank you.  I am very interested in your one-day painting classes.  Hope to see you again."

"Mike and I stayed at your place in late August whilst attending a course.  I just wanted to say thanks for such a nice stay – the hideaway is a beautiful place IN a beautiful place, we both left thoroughly relaxed and determined to return."
Cheers, Rob

"The tranquility and beauty of the garden restored me and I slept so well! Gibsons Landing is a “Great Get Away” from the noise and pollution of the City. Thank you for you hospitality."
Maureen, Vancouver

"I just wanted to say that we had a very nice time and enjoyed our stay in your B&B. I love your artwork! It took me a little while to realize that the paintings were yours. So nice to have such a talent. Thank you."
Cory & Tony, Vancouver

"Wow!  What a great place.  We  have dropped off our bags, parked the car and have just zipped out to grab some snacks.  We shouldn’t be out too long. Thanks for the lovely place to stay."

"True to its name, the place is indeed hidden. Swing open the gate and enter the secluded world of Mary Jean Brown’s Warehouse Cottage/Lofts – a leafy green oasis right in the heart of Old Gibson’s Landing. The immaculately restored old warehouse that has been transformed into M.J.’s home, studio, gallery, and the two stylish Cottage/Lofts that offer accommodation to visitors like Betty and me. At the front door we are greeted enthusiastically by Maddy, the resident golden retriever, who seems overjoyed to see us. It has history including when the CBC owned it as a place to store sets during the 19 year filming of The Beachcombers TV series.

Both of the self-contained Cottage/Lofts are masterpieces of architectural ingenuity. A blend of utility and artistic elegance. Completely self-contained with separate entrances onto private outside patios, they come with fully equipped kitchens, large tiled showers, a soaker tub, and an open stairway leading to a raised sleeping balcony with duvet covered beds. Complete in every detail, but to M.J. A Warehouse Hide-A-Way is a work in progress, a labour of love with a focus on the future. “I’d rather look ahead than back”, she says. In the meantime, this is where she paints, teaches art, displays and sells her work, bases her interior design business and still finds time to run a very classy vacation accommodation. A single relaxing night at Mary Jean’s Warehouse and it felt like we were an ocean away from the Vancouver mainland."
